Ord is nearing to the magical day of Aug 5th !

Just how fast time flies when your serving the nation, I must say this process has been one of the most meaningful experiences you can get. I did certain things I never imagined was possible and at times stepped out of my comfort zone and also stepped up to the tasks on hand. The people I had to work with day in day out sometimes were a little difficult to handle , they had their set of problems and commitments, on my part the only way was to motivate them and rationalize with them that the light at the end of the tunnel was what their aim were to be.
Needless to say some were petty and lamented and complained their way through during their NS liability, but let me just make one fact clear right here, and that all of my duties were on a weekend, well thats because I did not have a girlfriend which was truly a blessing.
I just felt that being in a relationship during NS was definitely a no-go no-show matter. And the problem gets magnified if your in a combat-ready unit , you just dont have the time and freedom entertain anyone !
Anyway thats my opinion , but moving on, I did pick up certain traits along the way and yes hopefully my chinese has improved ? I sure hope it did ! I probably cant write my name in chinese no more man ! At least I can understand the talk going around now which is a little weird but nonetheless I must get used to it
Lastly, I must say the friendships I made along the way were awesome ! We toiled and gone through so much training and sleepless nights together and our bond has been stronger ever since !

Its Wednesday everyone , we're half way through the week.
For me this week has been tremendous, more emphasis on my trip to SGH to get my ingrown toe nail re-solved.
After so many months of enduring the pain I just thought that it would be a good idea to visit a specialist since my training program wasn't that packed and I'm relatively free in camp this period.
A trip down to my camp's MO resulted in a specialist appointment for me, and to say the least, it was well worth the effort.
I had a partial toe nail extraction yesterday, even though the procedure was a painful one , I did feel more comfortable after which.
Now for the healing period before I resume my physical routine

Hello everyone , how quickly Sunday is almost over and the world cup finals in a few hours time.
Unfortunately I'm down with fever and a bad tonsil infection. I'm way better now than this afternoon , probably the medicine has worked to eradicate all the germs from my system.
Anyway yesterday was Alan's wedding , Marina Bay Sands was an awesome location to hold the wedding. The place was crowded but none the less I managed to find my way around with Patrick and the rest. I'll get straight to the point here and stop the nitty gritty , the food was delicious and the festivities for the night included a free access into the casino for me ! I didn't favour the slot machines that much but the table games are comparable to those in Vegas.

A couple of hours more before I book into camp and what would be the longest stay in since getting my rank - a 10-day in camp.
This time round it would be a good break from civilian life for me , the past half week or so hasn't been kind to me , yes I had my good days but ultimately I wouldn't give it a 8/10.

How time flies isn't it , its already early Monday morning , thankfully I'm off till Tuesday so there is still time to do my own stuff. My schedule's relatively packed till then so hopefully things will start flying off my agenda instead of being stagnant.
Just a short summary of things in camp , I'm still on course despite getting my 3rd sergeant rank and life in camp hasn't been up to what I consider acceptable , basically I'm just dragging myself through the day in camp , one major concern for me is the lack of sleep due to the training schedule and that itself is torturous enough for anyone(with exception to the commandos). But that aside , its field camps or live firing almost every week , but since I was enlisted as a combat fit soldier then I have to assume the responsibilities.
Being Sunday , I went shopping and returned with some purchases , photos below !
And anyone who wants to head to the movies - tag me ! I've gotten 2 free movie passes.

Its the last week of CAT ! better known as the combined arms term , before I'll be getting my 3rd sergeant rank ! How cool is that , all I can ask that pasir lebar camp is really the best camp to be compared to any unit.
After coming so far , I've had mixed feelings and at times had to re-group inside , challenges came and I have successfully overcome them , not without the help of my army buddies , we have gone through many rough patches together but at the end of the day we still get the job done on time.

Sunday is here and in a couple of hours time its book in time.
Finally the hardest part of training is over and once again I'm looking forward to the week , with the high key event for the week being live firing on Friday-Saturday.
To start off with , yesterday was the best day in a while ; I had to go back to SISPEC for the day to attend a course and seriously being back at where I was at once upon a time was good. The feeling , atmosphere and memories made there was never to be forgotten with all my buddies , through thick and thin was awesome.

Hey you people out there , hopefully everything's going well this Sunday for you all.
This week in camp was all about lessons and dealing with my own problems ( self created ones). But nonetheless I've found a solution to them , the only problem now is my shin still hurts every time I run and I still can't get to the root of the problem. Army is all about running and I can't be missing all the running sessions in camp. Especially when I'm the sporty type myself.
Surprisingly nowadays I'm beginning to love my days in camp , of course the regimental life is not easy to endure but when my rank comes along , I foresee my life being better. My current aim is simple and direct , I just want to get into SAFSA swimming , since the army only recognises swimming and running as the 2 more predominant sports in the SAF. Other than this , I'll just keep only learning the ropes in NS.

By far this is the longest break ever since BMT was over. A good 5 days of rest for me , but as usual I went for runs , swim and gym , its becoming a norm for me , I'm the sporty type and can't stand just lazing round at home. Its a sin to sit around and do nothing-and be unfit !
Anyways , I went back to teach on Thursday for those of you who didn't know , the experience was awesome , its good to know that the kids still recognize me. Was supposed to go on Friday as well but had other plans for the day.
I'm not too sure whats the plan for me in camp this week , but hopefully it will be fun. Operational unit life is TOTALLY different from command school , basically its another phase change for me , adapting to it will definitely take time once again and I'm up to the task.

Finally I'm into the very last week of training at pasir lebar before moving onto my next phase of training.
All I can say is that I have benefited from the training, mentally and physically the improvement has been significant-no doubt.
From my personal perspective , army has brought me away from what I used to engage in , things like drinking and partying, for me those days are long gone. I don't know if its camp life or my training but being a Sergent to be in the coming months has really changed my outlook on life completely.
For those of you all out there who don't know yet , I'm living on my own. Of course its no joke and life is tough-really tough. Assuming more responsibilities is definitely one which I'm not able to uptake properly. As time goes by I hope to overcome it, I keep telling myself , I've been through the ups and downs in Army so I WILL be able to conquer it.
One last note-for DCNT guys we're meeting this Friday @ orchard MRT , 7pm.

Its been really long since I last blogged my thoughts out. Speaking of which the first half of SISPEC life is almost over , I can only conclude that my life has changed for the better after going through army. I don't know if you guys out there noticed the change in me , but I sure feel the change. The training , the discipline , the friendship , the hours of practice and patience has paid off.
Fitness wise I'm definitely on my peak right now , only thing is that maybe I'm born to be small size ! quite ironically that means I'll struggle with heavy load especially during the 28km route march which is this coming week , traditionally I'm super weak during route march ; its not the distance but the heavy load that I have to lug for 28km. Honestly , I don't see the rational of route marches or rather I don't see the positive side of it. But its something that everyone has to do , so theres nothing I can do too.

Its the 2nd last book out for BMT ! Looking back this week , so much has happened , so let me start.

I'll start off with the PSLE results , to be very very honest I don't think its really up to standard , looking at it as whole it definitely isn't very acceptable. Even as a relief teacher , I feel that certain people have ultimately tried their very best while some others don't even know what they are doing on exam day , but again everyone is different and its their choice to want to do well in their studies.
Hopefully , I can find time off Army life to go back to pvps hahahah , its very inviting considering the fact that I spend 5 days a week in camp.
But anyway to those students who did well - you worked hard for so long and you have seen the final result of your effort ; to those who didn't do that well , don't worry life is full of challenges , it doesn't mean anything if you didn't do well this time , theres always a second chance at something , just don't give up !

As for Army life , I can't believe that I'm about to enter the last week of BMT ! Its incredible !
During week 1 I never saw myself being in week 8 this happy . I've had a lot of problems adapting to life in BMT , from the food , the beds , having to endure rooms without air con , shortage of time , bathing without heated water ; the list will never end !
Training wise , of course its tough , otherwise it won't be called Army in the first place , but anyway , I secured a Silver for IPPT. Running has always has been the weak link and it still is today ! If it was swimming then it would be a different story , but again Army's main mode of training is running or marching and I have accepted it , the only solution is to continue practicing.
Not to forget the highlights of BMT , the field camp , live grenade throw , live firing , situational awareness test , route marches ; they have left a lasting impression which I will have for the rest of my life. And of course not to forget my bunk buddies , their really awesome when it comes to teamwork and I believe that my section is THE best section ever !
We have been through so much pain together that we know 1 another inside out and that feeling is fantastic !
Sadly we have to part ways in a week's time , but trust me , we won't forget what we have been through together.

Finally at long last, the 2 major activities for BMT are over ! Field camp and Situational awareness test are over.
Looking back , it was tough , especially for me - basically a first for everything.
I don't know about you guys out there , but personally I hate to wash clothes and having to do something in a short period of time.
I could definitely start a mini army shop in my house with all the extra purchases I got outside camp , if I'm not wrong I have 9 pairs of uniform ; just one example which shows I hate washing !
But thats beside the point , what really matters its only about 3 weeks before BMT is over !

Its book into camp day @ 1800hrs today. I'm just pleased that field camp is over and done with , come to think of it , the days out of camp passes fast and the days in camp is always a treacherous one.
Fitness wise I think I'm coping well , not much of a problem so far . I guess my only area of concern is the heavy load I have to carry. For someone of my size to carry such load is ridiculous , since I don't have to body mass to do so. But I hope that I will be able to train and at least carry my field pack on my own instead of troubling my buddy to do it for me.

Wei-Xing has just left PVPS teaching due to NS !

Its fast how time flies and I've almost done 3years of relief teaching at pvps !
I just can't accept it that I have to leave teaching , its sad but I have to move on , to be honest at age 20 I don't think I will ever grow up , I still enjoy doing a lot of sports and so on instead of being in a relationship and to those people out there thinking about being in a relationship , my advice is being single is still the best , nothing can beat it.
For all those nice kids who want to keep in contact with me , I have given my MSN hotmail address to most of you all , if not you might want to try facebook and of course my blog.
And to those graduating classes this year , don't think too much for your PSLE will be over in no time , just go with the flow enjoy what you are doing , by the time you guys are done I'll probably be enjoying my stay in NS ! (Hopefully) .
Not to forgot the teachers who guided me along with the day to day chores in school , especially Mr Lek , Mr Suhairy , Mr Noor just to name a few , you all have been patient with me , and I have indeed learnt a lot from you guys !
And lastly to those kids who wanted me to continue teaching them , we all have to move on with life , day by day we have to achieve something , we have to reach that little mountain in our plans , I'm sure one day a better relief teacher will come along and do a better job than me !

Its another 5 more days to NS and I'm prepared for it , physical activities wise it shouldn't be a problem for me , whatever most people say about the IPPT or fitness test , for me its a matter of how close I will get to the maximum score , I'm the competitive type so there goes my ego.

How time flies , the last week before NS is finally here.
A few months ago , this week was so far fetched and simply not realistic for me to believe , now it is.
There are so many thoughts flooding my mind now that I just have to take a break from everything , so many things to do , so little time to schedule them into their respective places.
But before I go any further , let me give mentioned what happened yesterday. Met up with my ex-classmates from poly , which was quite awesome , I still can't believe that the we're now ex-classmates , but nonetheless we had some fun talking and having dinner together , after which we adjourned to crazy elephant for some drinks. I haven't been partying for some time , but I still the drinks I ordered were not really my type , it tasted like plain water , but I'm not the petty type so I won't complain , I'll just treat it as giving them the pub some pocket money to spend. And of course I played some pool after which- and I parked myself at the table for 1hr 30mins , all I can say is that I'm not good , I stayed so long at the table because people there are lousy !
Everything ended before 12MN or rather 2 or 3 mins after 12MN , felt quite bad that rx and tim had to take a cab back ! But hopefully they had a good time !

Now that I've said that , I'm going into the nitty gritty details of the past few months. I'll try to make things short.
Let me begin with sha sha , all I can say is that even though we have known each other for many years , I feel that this time our differences cannot be patched back , I have my own interests and definitely I'm not easy to put up with , but surely its crap that every time you do something , you have to inform them. I just hate it , could be my family upbringing , but thats the way I like it and I won't change.
So in short , its over and nothing can beat that.
Hard to believe , but thats the way I like things done. Personally , I classify stuff like this as "small reports" which irks me. I'm not saying your a bad person , don't get me wrong , but sometimes being over possessive is detrimental to anyone. Its ridiculous.
Travelling wise , its been the same -with some twist. I've been trying to locate hotels with gyms and swimming pools so I won't have to compromise training for NS , so far I've been quite successful with them. The only exception was in Toronto when the hotel I stayed in didn't have a gym ! I wasn't totally pleased by it , but there was a beach nearby and it was really nice to run out there , even though the weather was quite harsh and there were no street lights.
Relief Teaching wise , the kids have all been relatively nice , I've been doing it for almost 3 years now and I'll just say I have not lost any interest in it yet ! Everyday is different and theres no saying what might happen !

Here I am on a Friday night , exhausted from work .

The past few days was a break from relief teaching since the primary 6 kids were having their PSLE oral exam , before I forget -I'd like to wish them the very best in their PSLE ; it really shouldn't be a problem for you guys to ace.
The going in my father's office is getting harder by the day , but for now I'm still learning the ropes and well definitely need to be receptive to new ideas or ideas put forth by others to me.
But what I cannot stand it when some people who say have the necessary qualifications boss their way around the workplace. But thats just life I guess even experience can't put someone ahead of a freshmen who just graduated from university.
From my perspective , I'd say even though you have a university degree good for you , but again you should be receptive to ideas that you get from a staff who has 30 years of experience in the industry instead of just belittling him right away , don't you all agree with me on this ? Most should I suppose.
But anyway on the lighter side of things , I think I'm making east coast park my second home nowadays , spending most of my days there running and improving my fitness level as a whole in preparation for army. No offence to anyone , but a sports person like me from young would blow any sort of competition away in army. But really I'm more targeted to representing my unit for swimming. What I can for swimming is that I may not be a record breaker , I was top 8 at national level in secondary school.
